An Interdisciplinary Approach for Teachers, Educators and Museum Professionals in All Education Levels
Museums are the repository of our cultural heritage. Museums should become destinations to explore and learn scientific, historic and artistic themes. Students can feel and sense valuable artifacts and handmade objects that shape their lives.
The question is: How do we encourage our visitors to satisfy their curiosity in the museum?
Experimental methods and their didactics are the core of this online course. We will see how all museums and heritage sites can be used as places of learning with the UNESCO Best Mobile Practice innovative technology – the Wandering Platform.

By the end of this course you will be able to:
Examine concepts in physics and art, creative writing and problem solving in the museums.
Tell a story regarding each exhibit or stuffed animal in the Natural History Museum; the market place in a historical site; a tree in a botanical garden, and so forth.
Plan and develop an interactive site for your visitors and students in the museum.
Evaluate your students’ outcomes in qualitative and quantitative ways on the Wandering Platform.
The course is intended for all teachers from middle school to university level as well as for teacher-trainers, school principals and educational officers who are seeking innovation in order to enable their students to learn around museums.
Museum professionals who are willing to integrate the UNESCO best mobile platform.
The entire course costs 100$ for international participants and 350 NIS for Israelis.
This sum includes a yearly license for a personal site.
Talila Yehiel graduated from the Ceramic Design Department at Bezalel Academy of Art. She also holds a Master’s degree from the History of Art Department at Tel Aviv University. She has extensive experience in teaching pupils at all levels as well as in mentoring teachers.
Her academic background, which integrates the material world, the creative process, and the world of research, furnishes her with tools that afford profound insight and a rich diversity of working strategies.
Ms Yehiel has been involved in the creation of special tailor-made sites for museum visits, a project called “Learning Based on Location – Wandering”. She has tried it out on various groups of students and adults. Wandering around an exhibition hall by means of this site gets people involved and encourages them to interact with the exhibits.
Ms Yehiel has supported students from Mexico, Spain, Italy, Turkey and Austria to create their digital experimental learning maps and games on the MuseumRun site.
